The purpose of the present study is to compare suicide attempters, with or without history of SMB, in a sample of youngsters from both sexes with ages between 11 an 21 years old, who presented for first evaluation at "Nucleo de Estudos do Suicidio" of Psychiatry Department of "Hospital de Santa Maria", during the year of 2006. the hypothesis are that in young people with a history of SMB, it's more frequent the presence of a history of sexual abuse or physical violence during childhood, family conflicts, insatisfaction with own body, and incapability of verbally expressing emotions.
