These events are not only tragic or traumatic for the individuals involved but also have a ripple effect and create collateral damage within the campus community. Many universities are instituting bystander training to address the harm of interpersonal violence and other harmful behaviors. I'm writing this article as a bystander to the many harmful consequences for many individuals within the campus community brought on by cases of sexual assault, rape, and violence.
