N2  - The paper reports on the effectiveness of a six-part television series ("Pssst. . . the really useful guide to alcohol") in changing viewers' knowledge and alcohol-related behaviours and attitudes. Comparisons between viewers and matched controls indicated significant increases in knowledge relating to alcohol. No changes in attitudes were found, although some behavioural change was indicated. These results are discussed in the context of wider-ranging alcohol-related health promotion initiatives.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
