N2  - Analytical predictions of temperature-time histories of skin contacts with a number of materials are presented. Comparison with available experimental results show that correlations are much improved if a contact resistance is included in the analysis. Some simple experiments are also presented which indicate that the contact resistance between skin and a hard surface for a moderate contact pressure is of the order of 1000 W/m2K.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
