TY - JOUR PY - 2000// TI - Anileridine fatalities: An update JO - Journal (Canadian Society of Forensic Science) A1 - Singer, P. SP - 61 EP - 64 VL - 33 IS - 2 N2 - Anileridine is a synthetic narcotic available in Canada by prescription as Leritine® (Frosst). An earlier review of 20 cases found that although blood concentrations greater than 1.5 mg/L and liver concentrations greater than 5 mg/kg were consistent with fatality, virtually all the cases surveyed involved multiple drug ingestion. Since that review, however, we have received four fatalities involving anileridine as the sole drug, one of which also contained ethanol. Three case histories are presented with blood concentrations ranging from 1.4 to 2.1 mg/L and liver 4.7 to 27 mg/kg, where anileridine is the cause of death. A fourth case, involving a natural death, is included as a comparison.
