N2  - In two separate incidences where unknown powders were submitted for analysis, the major chemical components were found to be (i) potassium perchlorate/sodium salicylate, and (ii) potassium perchlorate/potassium benzoate. Both mixtures originated from "whistling" fireworks and were identified by solvent extraction and infrared spectroscopy.<p />
