N2  - This paper explores the relevance and applicability of 'anti-oppressive practice' in work with sexual abusers. The context is that perspectives on diversity have not yet been adequately integrated into the orthodoxy of theory and practice in the sex offender field. The barriers to, and dilemmas in, making use of an anti-oppressive framework are discussed. There is a specific focus on the development of appropriate responses to sexual abusers from minority groups and a model for anti-oppressive practice is outlined. The author suggests ways in which practitioners can prepare for anti-oppressive practice in sex offender work.<p />
