N2  - This article analyzes data on road traffic accidents, vehicles and drivers for Yugoslavia in 1987. After a five-year period of the most favourable safety rating, the number of traffic accidents and injured people has increased. It also discusses the influence of subjective and objective factors which influence road traffic safety and reviews measures to be taken for its improvement.<p />
