TY - JOUR PY - 1999// TI - Applying applied research: selling the sequential line-up JO - Applied cognitive psychology A1 - Lindsay, Rod C. L. SP - 219 EP - 225 VL - 13 IS - 3 N2 - An example of applied research (sequential line-ups) is described to illustrate the difficulties of ensuring that results of applied research actually have an impact in an applied setting. Several factors that can increase the probability that the research results will have an impact on real-world practice are discussed. Even after the basic research has been accepted as useful (sold), continued monitoring (maintenance) may be required to ensure that the potential benefits of applied research are realized.
