TY - JOUR PY - 1991// TI - Organizational structure of public transport and assessment of schedules JO - Transportation planning and technology A1 - Quinet, Emile SP - 145 EP - 152 VL - 16 IS - 2 N2 - This paper begins with a very simple model based on the choice of timetable. It examines the consequences of market structure (competition, monopoly, social optimum), adding a fourth type of organization, the cooperative of suppliers who combine together for the operation of a company. The final section reexamines the results, compares them with those found in the literature and proposes how they can be adapted to similar situations. I wish to express my thanks to the anonymous referee who kindly made a number of pertinent comments on a previous version of this paper and enabled me to set the work within a context of similar research.
