TY - JOUR PY - 1991// TI - A discrepancy-based methodology for nuclear training program evaluation JO - Evaluation and program planning A1 - Cantor, Jeffrey A. SP - 113 EP - 122 VL - 14 IS - 3 N2 - This paper describes a process for training program evaluation based upon Provus' Discrepancy Evaluation Model and the principles of instructional design. The Discrepancy-Based Methodology for Nuclear Training Program Evaluation was developed for use in nuclear power utility technician/operator training programs. It facilitates systematic and detailed analyses of multiple training program components in order to identify discrepancies between program specifications, actual outcomes, and industry guidelines for training program development. This evaluation is a three-phased process. Phase One analyzes utility program standards which define the program (what should be). Phase Two analyzes the programmatic data (what is). Phase Three synthesizes the multiple discrepancy analyses, culminating in interpretation and reporting of the evaluation findings.
