TY - JOUR PY - 2012// TI - Examining a-weighted and c-weighted sound levels and noise code limits in respect to annoyance due to music sources JO - Journal of the Acoustical Society of America A1 - Woolworth, David SP - 3259 EP - 3259 VL - 131 IS - 4 N2 - C-weighting has recently been incorporated into noise ordinances to address music sources that incorporate high levels of low frequency pulsing; previously C-weighting was reserved for industrial and transportation noise. It is common for complaintants to have valid concerns in regard to audible low frequency noise that does not qualify as a violation based on A-weighted measures and codes. This paper will survey a number of existing ordinances that utilize C-weighting and sampling speed to address these music sources and produce examples of urban propagation and transmission.
