N2  - "Troo, the Traumaroo" bicycle and playground safety education program created for kindergarten, first, and second grade students, was provided to a convenience sample of seven elementary schools in a Southwestern city. Favorable principal, classroom teacher, and school nurse evaluations indicated that the "Troo, the Traumaroo" program was successful in providing young children with bicycle and playground safety in a fun and entertaining way. Results of this pilot study indicated that kindergarten children pre-tested for bicycle safety knowledge prior to participating in the program, had significantly higher bicycle safety knowledge scores 30 days after participating in the program (p < .0001).<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
