N2  - A test code and procedures for ergonomic evaluation of lever operated knapsack (LOK) sprayers have been prepared. This study was carried out to examine the validity of this test code. Four LOK-sprayers of different types were evaluated. The test code included preliminary tests, physiological cost tests, effort measurement tests and postural discomfort tests. Five subjects participated in the study. Based on the data of these studies, points were allotted to each sprayer and a total score out of 100 was calculated for each sprayer. A close agreement was observed between these ergonomic scores and the ranking given by the subjects.<p />
