N2  - The case of a young man who died unexpectedly from myocarditis is presented. The body was partially embalmed before autopsy at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Pathology. Although the cause of death was not a problem to diagnose, this case highlights artefacts that embalming may cause and the difficulties it may create with interpretation of injury.
