This group constructed a small autonomous movement outside larger social and political structures of power and action in Bingoumll, a Kurdish town. The new form of the group's radicalism, with its local and global instruments of socialization and its repertoire of violence, produced organizational, strategic, axiological, and teleological ruptures with traditional Islamist movements in the region.
