TY - JOUR PY - 2010// TI - Female Genital Mutilation: A Socio-Cultural Gang Up Against Womanhood JO - Feminist theology A1 - Olubanke Akintunde, Dorcas SP - 192 EP - 205 VL - 18 IS - 2 N2 - This article uses the voices of women to investigate the horror of the cultural practice of female genital mutilation. Case studies graphically illustrate the way in which the bodies of young girls are literally moulded for male satisfaction, physical, religious and cultural. Female genital mutilation is a socio-cultural offensive against women and young girls which we would join with female theologians in condemning.
