TY - JOUR PY - 2007// TI - An examination of gender role identity, sexual self-esteem, sexual coercion and sexual victimization in a university sample JO - Journal of sexual aggression A1 - Kelly, Theresa C. A1 - Erickson, Chris D. SP - 235 EP - 245 VL - 13 IS - 3 N2 - The relationship between gender role identity, sexual self-esteem and sexual coercion was examined through a questionnaire. Participants were 84 undergraduate students from a university in Washington, DC. Contrary to what has been found in the literature, there were weak relationships between sexual coercion and masculinity, and sexual coercion and sexual self-esteem. Participants were not sexually aggressive and experienced little victimization. However, there were gender differences in terms of coercion, victimization, gender role identity and sexual self-esteem.
