SP - 161 EP - 168 VL - 9 IS - 2 N2 - Although schizophrenia is rare in younger adolescents and even rarer in prepubertal children, research over the past 2 decades has shown that schizophrenia does develop in some children and adolescents. Strategies for providing treatment to children who have schizophrenia and their families, including the use of medications, are reviewed.
