N2  - This presentation uses accident data in order to give the background for the main priorities in increasing child restraint protection. The injury mechanism is discussed in relation to full-scale laboratory tests and real life case studies. A test method is proposed. Results from using the method on child restraint in ECE mass group 1 are showed. It is concluded that the side protection can be increased by fairly simple methods.<p />
