TY - JOUR PY - 1974// TI - Simulation techniques to study road traffic behaviour JO - Indian highways A1 - Pillai, K. SP - 6 EP - 18 VL - 2 IS - 9 N2 - The article describes the simulation model for studying road traffic behaviour based on a stretch of the Bristol road near Birmingham University in U.K. The portion of the road under study has eleven minor road junctions, five pedestrian crossings and two vehicle actuated signal controlled junctions. Models are developed of each type of road junction and pedestrian crossing in the section. The model simulates as closely as possible the behaviour obtained during field studies. It also permits changes in the system without making physical changes in the field. The selection of computer and programming language is also discussed. /TRRL/
