TY - JOUR PY - 1983// TI - A survey of recent driver steering behavior models suited to accident studies JO - Accident analysis and prevention A1 - Reid, L. D. SP - 23 EP - 40 VL - 15 IS - 1 N2 - A literature survey for the years 1975-1980 has been carried out in the area of driver models describing steering behavior. The purpose of this search was to locate models which could be applied to potential roadway accident scenarios. A range of candidate driver models was found and their main features briefly outlined. Where possible, model parameters and sample response time histories have been included. It was found that no well-developed and validated model for the detailed study of accidents yet exists. The paper concludes with a brief assessment of the merits of the various models presented.
