TY - JOUR PY - 1980// TI - Transfer of Technology -- A Structural Analysis JO - Journal of peace research A1 - Naur, Maja SP - 247 EP - 259 VL - 17 IS - 3 N2 - To cover the world market, fewer nations are required to trade in technology than to trade in all commodities. A structural analysis was carried out to rank order the topdogs in the transfer of technology as well as of trade in general. It was found that the absolute number of underdogs dependent on one topdog was the best measure both when it came to trade in technology and trade in general. In technology, the general world pattern of the topdogs is visualized. Finally, an analysis of the correlation between trade and political influence as shown in the UN system was made. Only for the USA was there a positive correlation between this topdog and its underdog as regards trade in all commodities and trade in technology and the voting pattern.
