%X The article deals with the regulation of assisted suicide after the ruling of the Federal Constitutional Court on the invalidity of the criminal offence of promoting suicide on a businesslike basis. It explains that the legal system must counteract the causes of suicidal decisions as far as possible and protect people from suicidal decisions that are not free or based on personal conviction, but must not make the exercise of the right to self-determined dying unreasonably difficult. © Zeitschrift für medizinische Ethik, Basel. All rights reserved.

Language: de
