%X The National Suicide Research Foundation is an independent, multi-disciplinary research unit that investigates different topics related to suicide and self-harm in Ireland. They provide empirical knowledge for suicide prevention and its assessment. The main objective is to produce a nationally and internationally body of reliable knowledge, from a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspective, on the risk and protective factors associated with suicidal behaviour, and the effectiveness of self-harm intervention and suicide prevention programmes. Two case reports are presented that meet the criteria for high risk self-harm and major repeater patients as an example of the assessment and management followed in the National Suicide Research Foundation. This management is based on cognitive behaviour therapy. © 2019 Elsevier España, S.L.U. and Sociedad Española de Psiquiatría y Sociedad Española de Psiquiatría Biológica

Language: en
