%X A study was performed to address driver response to the application of raised pavement markers (RPM) by measuring changes in speed and encroachment distances into the opposing travel lane after varying the spacing intervals of these markers. For this study, two sites were selected for their functional classification as rural minor arterials, average operating speeds and observed encroachment occurring at specific spots. The effects of the RPM placements were quantified via analysis of the pertinent data.
Language: en
