%X To evaluate the incidence and types of atypical ski injuries, charts and X-rays of all patients brought to Pocono Hospital with ski injuries between October 1984 and March of 1985 were reviewed. Atypical injuries occurred in only 5% of those seeking medical attention, but accounted for 67% of those requiring immediate hospitalization. Prompt recognition is essential for proper treatment of these potentially life-threatening injuries.
