%X This paper reports on an investigation to determine the current modal split for the school journey and the factors that influence parents to take their children by car as opposed to allowing them to catch the bus, walk or cycle. The implications of the use of cars for the school journey are examined and steps that need to be taken in order to encourage a transfer of mode are presented.<p />
