%X <p>Highlights •During walking, PD make more task-irrelevant fixations compared to controls.  •With visual cues, fixation locations were similar between PD and controls.  •When crossing a salient obstacle, PD made more task-relevant fixations than controls.  •Poorer visual acuity was associated with fewer fixations during walking in PD only.  •Improving the saliency of relevant stimuli may be a useful, cost-effective home-based modification for PD.
