%X The primary finding of this research is that an online-advice community is an emergent system resulting from the synthesis of three basic processes: schema formation, schema sharing, and schema gathering. I end by showing how knowledge of these processes allows the transformation of advice communities into higher-level information systems like autonomous businesses. KEYWORDS: online communities; applied cognitive science; distributed cognition; programmable autonomous businesses; web-based communities; online advice; information systems; information activities; help-advice threads.<p /><p>Language: en</p>
