%X Advances in the design of vehicle seats to provide better protection for occupants during collisions are described. These include the development of safety belt air bags to reduce chest impact during high speed collisions; additional fixing points for safety belts; sensors that predict collisions and adjust safety belts, seats and head restraints to minimise injury; improvements to the design of head restraints; and redesigning car seats to reduce whiplash and driver fatigue.<p />
