%X This article summarizes some of the presentations from the safety track of the Institute of Transportation Engineers 2009 Technical Conference and Exhibit. The seven sessions in this track addressed the following: the evolution of vehicle infrastructure integration to IntelliDrive; high-intensity activated crosswalks; work zone safety and operations; weather and traffic data products; balancing design and operations; intersection safety; and human behavior and transportation technology. The sessions should prove useful for application by the participants in their own communities.<p />
