%X Patterns of maternal child co-residence among 25 alcoholic women incarcerated for drunk driving are examined. Two-thirds of these mothers reported significant periods of time, not due to incarceration, when minor children did not reside with them. Fewer than half of the placements were mandated by child-protective services. Having two or more children while actively alcoholic or residing with a substance abuser correlated strongly with separate residence.

Language: en
