%X Evidence was found for the role of social integration in affecting suicide rates both in a time-series analysis and in a regional analysis for the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The social correlates of the homicide rates were, however, quite different from those of the suicide rates.<p />
