%X Research shows that lifetime exposure to intimate partner violence (IPV) has significant short- and long- term health consequences. Concerted efforts toward prevention are needed to identify methods to reduce the impact of IPV on health and to prevent IPV. The focus of this article is the health care response to IPV prevention.
