abstract="This paper reports the suitability of a novel nitrogen rich compound, guanidinium-5-aminotetrazolate for RDX-based high-energy gun propellant formulations in respect of flame temperature as well as the burning rate characteristics. It has been found that the partial replacement of RDX with guanidinium-5-amino tetrazolate at the rate of five parts decreases the flame temperature of the propellant by about 120K without adversely affecting the burning rate characteristics, i.e. linear rate of burning co-efficient and pressure exponent. <p>Language: en</p>",
