abstract="Suggests that adolescence, a time of changes, cultural alienation, and transition crises, is especially suitable for a combination of Rorschach techniques and psychoanalysis, through which adolescents can test their limits. The matter of limits is of major importance for Ss who do not recognize any limits. Clinical vignettes exemplify adolescent conflicts between different instinctual movements. The Rorschach test appears to be a privleged instrument for reading and analyzing adolescent defenses against the violence of their libidinal drives and their fragile narcissistic organizations, while helping them to acquire an identity by recognizing limits, and to conceptualize themselves as having attained harmony with their environment.
