abstract="The spiritual dimensions of gatherings of women, particularly those with a dedication to something beyond the self, are explored. Women's groups are argued to be a potentially valuable resource for therapy as they provide a safe place where the &quot;feminine principle&quot; can be honored and reclaimed. The paper employs an experiential learning model and uses stories to illustrate key points. Storytelling as prayer is analyzed as a vehicle for healing, developing, and transformation within each woman and the larger community. Three types of stories-Medicine, Teaching, and Stories of Power-are described along with three supportive functions women's groups play.<p />",
