abstract="Depression is the most frequent complication observed in cancer patients. The prevelence rates of the disorder reported in literature vary from 17 to 58% of these patients. Depressive symptoms affect the patients' quality of life and their survival expectations. In this paper the nature of association between cancer and depression is examined. Moreover, problems in diagnosing this disorder in neoplastic patients are reviewed. The authors report about the risk of suicide in these patients. Finally, etiopathogenetic features and feasible therapeutic strategies in neoplastic patient's depression are discussed.<p /><p>Language: it</p>",
