abstract="This study describes the demographic, psychosocial and clinical characteristics of 125 suicidal attempters visiting an emergency room in general Hospital in Bahrain King Dom. The population was mostly young, unemployed and singles. In the male gender population 44.6% claimed that were unemployed, compared to 35.2 in the female gender. In addition 76.2% of the male population reported use of illicit drugs vs. 25.5% of females. Inter personal problems were identified by 72.8% of the population as stressor for the attempt.
