abstract="A school division of 20,000 students has implemented a kindergarten through Grade 12 prevention and intervention program to address the use of alcohol and other drugs among the youth of the Hampton community. Hampton Intervention and Prevention Program (HIPP) uses a 30-member Steering Committee, representative of the schools, parents, and community agencies, to monitor the comprehensive program and provide linkages among cooperating groups.
