abstract="PURPOSE of Review: Our aim is to present important informations asbout how can depression influence suicide prevention and to understand if after pandemics we should include other variables to this purpose. Recent Findings: Based on the understanding of the multifactorial nature of suicidal behavior and its relationship with depression, one of the most disabling conditions among adolescents and young adults (AYA) in Brazil, this article aimed to present the importance of building interdisciplinary, multifactorial strategies with interventions at the individual, family, community, and public policies through the experience of a suicide prevention and postvention institute in Brazil. Summary: Depression is an important predictor for suicidal behavior; however, in order to construct program and activities for its prevention, we need to with interdisciplinary and multicatorial strategies. More studies are needed to relate to multifactors and the importance of depression in suicide prevention to each of these factors. How to approach depression beyond psychological and psychiatric treatment, especially in places with little or no access to mental health treatment.
