abstract="Quinalphos is an organophosphorous compound that is highly toxic in nature and an inhibitor of cholinesterase. It is an insecticide available in liquid form, in different amounts such as 25% emulsifiable concentrate, 35% emulsifiable concentrate and commonly used for crops such as cotton, mustard, paddy, etc. The minimum dosage for use is 150-1500 ml. Organophosphate poisoning has been a leading cause of suicide attempts in developing countries. This study sheds light on a case in which quinalphos was mistakenly swallowed, causing side-effects of cholinesterase such as dry mouth, diarrhea, and salivation. Agri-farmers in contact with OP pesticides on a daily basis should be provided with information and guidance on the use of products to avoid damage. © 2020 by Advance Scientific Research.
