abstract="The most common methods of suicide are by poisoning and hanging. Death due to electrocution virtually means accidental, with suicides are rare and homicides are even rarer. Most of the suicides by electrocution are committed by persons who have knowledge of electricity. Because of rarity of the suicide by electrocution this case is reported. We report a case of young man who works as security guard committed suicide by encircling electric wire around his left forearm and right leg. The circumstances surrounding the manner of electrocution and the features of electric injuries are presented and discussed. © 2018, Medicolegal Society.
