abstract="This study aimed to identify the gender-specific risk factors associated with suicide attempts among Korean adolescents. A total sample of 72,435 adolescents aged 12∼18 years who responded to the 2013 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBS). Multivariate analysis using logistic regression revealed that suicide attempts were positively associated with middle school, perceived socioeconomic status, living status, perceived happiness, and depression symptoms among male students. Among female students, suicide attempts were positively associated with middle school, perceived academic performance, perceived socioeconomic status, living status, perceived happiness, stress perception, and depression symptoms. Understanding the risk factors based on study findings is very important in providing comprehensive interventions and management to reduce suicide attempts for adolescents. © 2015 International Information Institute.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
