abstract="BACKGROUND: Suicide, depression and insomnia, mental health problems increase. <br><br>OBJECTIVE: To analyze the prevalence of depression, suicidal ideation and insomnia in university. Material and methods: A non-experimental, descriptive, cross made in open population of university students in Saltillo, who underwent a structured survey designed for this purpose. <br><br>RESULTS: We studied 438 university 164 (37%) men and 274 (63%) women. 50% (219) accepts depressed, 168 (38.5%) were depressed at least once a week. 296 (67.6%) have a relative who is depressed. 62 (14%) agree insomniac concerning suicidal ideation 95 (22%) have thought about suicide. <br><br>CONCLUSIONS: Depression is a problem in university students who demand attention. Suicidal ideation is another, of a psychological nature that requires identification to take preventive measures against suicide.<p /><p>Language: es</p>",
