abstract="Arachnoid cysts involving different regions of the brain may be associated with psychosis- like cases. However, the number of reports displaying a relation between psychiatric disorders and arachnoid cyst is few. A 28 year-old female patient, attended our outpatient clinic with auditory and visual hallucinations, reference, persecution and suicide thoughts, and dizziness. Cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed arachnoid cyst at the right temporal region. Routine biochemical tests, endocrine system investigations and EEG were normal. Psychotic symptoms were suspected to be induced by the arachnoid cyst and were controlled at day 20 after hospitalization by low-dose quetiapine (400 mg/day).
