abstract="The objective of the present study was to develop and to validate a helmet finite element model based on the dynamic behaviour of its components measured experimentally. When validated, the helmet model was coupled to an existing 3D human head FE model in order to estimate the intracranial field parameters under regulation test conditions. The intracranial stresses, expressed in terms of Von Mises shearing stresses, predicted by the model suggested that the brain tolerance limits were exceeded compared to published brain tolerance limits based on motorcyclist accident reconstruction. <p>Language: en</p>",
