abstract="Since 1914, a collection of artistical productions (paintings, ceramics, writings) of psychiatric patients built up by W. Morgenthaler exists at the Psychiatric University Hospital in Berne/Switzerland. Part of it are 170 water-color paintings by Rosa Marbach (1881-1926). From 1908 until 1926 when she committed suicide, she was hospitalized in two psychiatric asylums, the last years in Berne, under the diagnosis of katatonia. Her paintings demonstrate a touching contrast between her sufferings as a severely mentally ill person and the dreamy idyll of an aesthetic phantasy world in which she encounters her former sweetheart as a &quot;Löwenbraut&quot; (bride of a lion).<p /><p>Language: de</p>",
