abstract="Spanish researchers who publish in Spanish-language scientific journals and not in Science Citation Index (SCI) journals have huge cash problems. In light of the present Spanish Science Policy, it is possible to say that to write only in Spanish is economic and professional suicide. This is a serious consequence of the present erroneous Spanish Science Policy which can be appreciated by the experiences of those researchers who work in local and regional items, including fieldwork, samplings, etc. The point is not to discuss the historical reasons which make English the first scientific language in the World, the problem is the present split between international accepted Science and traditional Spanish-Hispanic Science which studies local and regional items. In short, it is important that Spanish and Hispanic authorities protect Spanish-language Science, as an important network of institutions, journals and documentation exist which think, work and write in Spanish.<p /><p>Language: es</p>",
